Covid-19 PCR Testing Ends at OADDL

Tuesday, September 15, 2020

September 3, 2020 was the last day of high-volume COVID-19 PCR testing on human samples at OADDL. We started receiving human samples on March 31, 2020 and have since tested a total of 111, 093 samples. As the Fall semester got underway and temporary COVID-19 PCR technicians went back to school, it was clear OADDL could not continue to meet testing demands with its existing technical staff while continuing to provide full-service animal diagnostic testing.

The decision was made by upper administration to move COVID-19 PCR testing to a new facility at the OSU Venture I Research Park with new leadership and a new technical staff over the Labor Day weekend.

OADDL appreciates the opportunity to contribute to this massive testing need during such a critical time. Our years of diagnostic experience as an AAVLD-accredited NAHLN laboratory positioned us to commit to this challenge with confidence. We are proud of our dedicated professionals who worked together as a unified team to meet the needs of the state.

OADDL wishes the new team at Venture I all the best as they continue to provide COVID-19 PCR testing for Oklahomans. We stand ready to assist the state in such critical situations whenever they arise.
